Seven selections for Naas

By Luke

The feature race at Naas is race four off at 2:10. The favourite Pravlaguna will be hard to beat. She improved from her chase debut at Killarney to win at Limerick impressively last time out. She will be hard to beat.

Race one off at 12:40

This looks like a penalty kick for City Island . He won at Leopardstown over Christmas, Dallas De Pictons was second on that occasion. Since then Dallas De Pictons has won twice including a handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival. City Island is the one to beat.

Race two off at 1:10

Debuchet has plenty of hurdling experience, he has run six times over hurdles. Out of those six runs his best finish was third. I think this race is there for the taking and I would be disappointed if he didn’t win.

Race three off at 1:40

All For Joy is running over hurdles for the first time since Christmas 2017. He has run in five bumpers and finished second in them all. On that hurdles debut he was fourth behind Paloma Blue at Leopardstown. A return to hurdles will hopefully see him get his head infront.

Race five off at 2:40

Band Of Outlaws finished third on debut when Maze Runner won at Cork. He did not jump good enough to win the race. He improved his jumping to win at Cork last time out. I think it is between the two Joseph O’Brien trained runners and Band Of Outlaws gets my vote.

Race six off at 3:10

Paul Nolan has been in great form of late. He has a 38% strike rate for the last fortnight. I like his runner Peculiar Genius. He has finished first, second and fourth on his last three outings over fences. On his last start over fences he was fourth, both Blast Of Koeman and Tisamystery finished ahead of him, both have since came out and won. I think he can go close off a mark of 115.

Race seven off at 3:40

I think Thereisnodoubt can continue the good stable form of Shane Crawley, he had a winner at the Dublin Racing Festival last weekend. This will be his third start for the trainer. Since changing stable he has came first and also fell. He won very impressively at Clonmel early last month. I think there is more improvement to come and he can go close.
