Preview of racing at Cork and Naas

By Luke

Saturdays racing in Ireland comes from Naas and Cork. My first selection from Cork comes in the first race off at 1:50. Nibiru was last seen finishing down the field in a flat handicap at Naas. Prior to that, he finished third in one of the best maiden hurdles for his age group. He finished third behind the ill fated Sir Erec, with Tiger Tap Tap back in second. He showed vast improvement form his first run over hurdles when he finished sixth. I think he will run well at 10/3.

Race three off at 3:00

Gipsy Lee Rose has been running with consistency, running four times over hurdles and was only out of the first three once. She won on the third time of asking when winning over today’s distance at Limerick early last month. She will enjoy the good ground and I think she will go close at 7/2.

Naas – Race two off at 2:10

Lapilli got his first victory in Ireland earlier this season at Dundalk. Since then he has ran twice and been slightly disappointing. On his penultimate start he had broke a blood vessel when finishing seventh over five furlongs. He will need to bounce back from his bad run last time out where he ran below par. He has a nice draw and I think he could run into a place at 16/1.

Race five off at 3:55

This race looks to be between the Ballydoyle trio. The one I have sided with is South Pacific. He was last seen winning his maiden over course and distance early last month on his seasonal reappearance. He has finished in the first two home four times having run six times. His rating of 92 is fair and I think he will go close at 3/1.

Race six off at 4:30

Ferretti has run three times this season and all them have been nice runs. He was last seen finishing fourth at Naas behind some decent opposition. On his penultimate start he won at Dundalk over seven furlongs. He returns to sprinting here and I think he is running off a nice mark of 84. He has the perfect draw which will hopefully help him get his head infront at 6/1.
