Navan hosts a seven race card with the feature race off at 1:35. The Navan Handicap Hurdle looks a very interesting renewal. As it stands 14 go to post with the favourite being Ronald Pump. The favourite has won on his last two outings. Last time out at Fairyhouse he was a very impressive winner. For those two runs he has went up 18lbs. The six year old seems to be on an upward curve but I think he can be taken on. Last years winner Hareth doesn’t seem to be firing this time round. I like Gooden Jewel. He was only beaten 1/2 length over course and distance back in December. The step down in trip at Leopardstown didn’t suit. The step back up in trip can see him to better effect.
The first on the card is off at 12:30. I like Press Conference for Jessica Harrington. He bet the highly regarded Annamix at Limerick over Christmas. He receives 5lbs off the favourite and I think he has a leading chance.
The second race on the card is off at 1:00. I like Diol Ker. He was an unlucky loser at Leopardstown over Christmas. He looked the winner coming to the last, but he stumbled on landing losing momentum. A reapeat of that run will put him in the mix.
The last race I have a selection in is the fourth race off at 2:10. I like Eviscerating for Joseph O’Brien. His last run at Naas showed signs of improvement from his seasonal debut at Navan. He steps up in trip which will suit and will hopefully see him fighting out the finish.
Race one : Press Conference.
Race two : Diol Ker
Race three : Golden Jewel
Race four : Eviscerating
